Progress, However Slow – A GreenFoodie’s Eating Adventures

Well, its 3 weeks into my new Primal lifestyle and I have been surprised that I am sticking to the diet without too much trouble. It hasn’t been as difficult as I thought it would be to cut out processed food, grains, other carbs and sugars and it seems to be having a positive effect on me already.

I am nowhere near as bloated as I used to be, my IBS has settled down and I have more energy in the mornings. I’ve also noticed that the heavy ridges on my fingernails are now much less noticeable and my eyesight is improving (I noticed this last week when I was driving and managed to see street signs much more clearly than I used to from further away).

I do feel stronger too but that remains to be seen. My measurements have also improved slightly although my weight doesn’t see to have shifted much. 76.3kg from 77.2kg on the 1st of January. Body fat down slightly from 39.1% to 38.5%. Waist measurement down 2.5cm, abdominal (navel) down 5cm (probably from the decreased bloating and inflammation of my bowels), hips down 1cm, upper thigh down 1cm and upper arms remain unchanged.

So, the progress is slow but I am grateful to see that there has been some progress at least. I’m also having fun thinking up different types of recipes, focusing mainly on raw or carb/sugar free treats. Right now I’m totally addicted to the Raw Chocolate Brownies that I’ve been making. They are raw, gluten free, sugar free and oh so yummy!! Have a look at the recipe here.

Signing off with a quote that made me giggle…
