Re-Dedication to Veganism – A Vegan’s Journey

I just wanted to take the time to re-dedicate myself to the vegan cause. As you know from a previous post, that I suffered immense meat cravings in transitioning from an ovo-lacto vegetarian to a full vegan. Not wanting to lapse into eating meat, I decided to allow occasional amounts of dairy back into my diet. I still however, would like to become fully vegan, so I have been searching for ways to quell those craving by researching different recipes and menu plans.

One that I have found extremely helpful has been the i-phone app ’21 Day Vegan Kickstart.’ It is a free app, with detailed menu plans and corresponding recipes for 21 days. The meals are so delicious and varied as well as easy to prepare. I have been using it for the last month, and had no meat, or dairy cravings. I especially enjoy the Blueberry Buckwheat Pancakes with Tempeh Bacon. YUUUUUUUM! You can also find them on

  • This one’s for the lads. This is a refreshing, comedic take on veganism and vegan meals. The meals are based on favourites of men (I know it’s stereotyping, but they are typical bachelor boy meals), look delicious and are probably great for that early transition into veganism. They do however contain alot of processed foods, so have them but balance it out with plenty of fresh produce! Ladies, you will probably enjoy it too ‘cause The Vegan Zombie is pretty easy on the eye and very charismatic!!!! – watch here

Chia Seed Pudding
1 cup coconut cream ¼ cup chia seeds ¼ cup agave ½ tsp vanilla extract
Optional flavouring-2tbsp cacao powder OR ¼ cup raspberry puree OR ¼ cup lime juice OR get creative!
Method- Mix ingredients, add flavouring then mix. Refrigerate overnight.

    Thanks so much for these links!! I was losing confidence in my ability to live a vegan lifestyle (went vegan for 24 days before I caved because I also was having obsessive meat cravings.. but then felt supremely guilty). Now I see I am not alone in this and that I can fully address the issues I’m having! Lifesaver, really!!
